This female Black Oystercatcher flew away from the next, calling. A moment later a Bald Eagle swept in, and I realized she dared to leave her nest. I believe she was trying to distract him away from her nest.
This lighthouse operated from 1881 to 1957. It is often fog shrouded, but can be seen on clear days from Tillamook Head, Ecola State Park. I didn't get this shot until my third stop at this location.
This row boat was a decorative garden feature in a yard in Astoria, Oregon. The cat was sitting and sunning in the boat until I approached, when she jumped out to greet me.
