This nursing mother squirrel was up the tree having a little time to herself, while the 4 young "kids" were playing in and out of the home hole in the tree trunk. Whitefish Point, Upper Peninsula. Michigan, June 2019
Hiking around Whitefish Point Lighthouse in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, I noticed this family of Red Squirrels. I saw the nursing mom nearby taking a break from the "kids", who were looking out to the big wide world. They were so cute, taking short forays out of the hole, up and down the tree trunk, and then running back to the safety of home. Michigan, June 2019
