These are the birds we climbed some pretty high sand dunes to see at Sleeping Bear Dunes State Park. We saw two adults and three little chicks. The adult bird is only about 7 inches long, so this little chick was about 2 inches of fluff zipping along the beach, with mom trying to keep watch over all three. This is an endangered bird with protected nesting sites. It was worth the steep climb up and down sand dunes to see and photograph these cuties. Michigan, June 2019 7/10/19 Judith Sparhawk
Driving on a rural road in Michigan, I ran across this great looking stone building. I'm not sure if it was being used as a home or an out-building, but I really liked the look of it. Michigan, June 2019 7/9/19 Judith Sparhawk
Just north of the Mackinac Bridge, the first town in the Upper Peninsula is St. Ignace, where we saw these painted and decorated moose sculptures. The golden moose was behind the Quality Inn, with American Moose nearby, as was the Big Boy Moose. I found it interesting that the Big Boy Moose was female, sans antlers. We didn't see any other moose on the trip. Michigan, June 2019 7/8/19 Judith Sparhawk
