Green Heron ~ This adult Green Heron was observed watching over its young, who were out of the nest and almost full-sized, flying and perching, but with bits of "baby fuzz" showing through their plumage.
Anhinga Along the Trail ~ In the Everglades at Royal Palms, the Anhinga Trail is a wonderful place to get up-close to a variety of wading birds. This Anhinga, with its long snakey neck, was drying off its wings in the sun.
~ I saw many Ospreys in the Everglades, flying over, fishing, standing guard at nest sites.
