This female Common Goldeneye was swimming on the Saskatchewan River, which runs through Edmonton.
This type of Magpie is very common in Edmonton, Alberta. They are in yards everywhere, on lawns and in trees. The sun turns their "black" feathers a shiny blue.
This nesting Red-eyed Vireo was seen in the Sawkatchewan River Valley. The nest was about 2 feet off the ground, about 6 feet off a busy trail, but was well camouflaged, and I was excited to see the bird this way.
