During a dawn stop at Morro Rock, eating breakfast in the car, this Western Gull flew up to the hood of the car, perhaps hoping for handouts. It stayed on the hood for quite awhile, only hopping down after I started the car and began driving away.
There is a colony of Sea Otters that winter near Morro Rock in Morro Bay, CA. I spent a few days there, and visited the rock a couple of times a day to see if any of the otters were near the shore and willing to be photographed. Despite taking about a zillion shots, only a few were worth processing. This is one of them.
I love the otter's fuzzy faces, their cute little hands. Morro Bay, CA.
