Though not a great photo, this image shows a mother sea otter with its young. By January the babies are fairly well grown, can swim by themselves some, but are usually held by the mothers and fed by hand. Cute to watch, but hard to photograph.
A Sea Otter at Morro Bay, CA.
I was sitting out by Morro Rock, photographing sea otters, and this heron flew by and perched on the rocks nearby. Needless to say, I was distracted from the otters for a little while.
