This is a different view of Morro Rock than the sunset view from a couple of days ago. This is from just north of the town of Morro Bay, on bluffs looking over the ocean, on the one cloudy day of my trip. This is the side of the rock that is unprotected by a jetty, and where the surfers come daily. 11/26/19 Judith Sparhawk
Morro Rock, affectionately referred to as "The Rock" is the most famous landmark of the town of Morro Bay, and a frequent stopping place for enjoying the sea otters, birds, and (on the north side) surfing. At this time of year the sun sets well away from the rock, but gave some good color, if not clouds, for my last night in Morro Bay. 11/24/19 Judith Sparhawk
The last night I was in Morro Bay, I made sure I was at the embarcadero for sunset. This view is to the south over the bay, with the sand spit beyond. The color and glow are from the actual westerly sunset over the jetty and the ocean. 11/21/19 Judith Sparhawk
