These beautiful yellow-orange flowers were growing in several areas in SE Arizona last week. I wasn't familiar with it, but my wildflower book IDs it as Desert Poppy.
There were lots of butterflies in SE Arizona, including some quite small ones. I believe this is a variation of Tiny Checkerspot. I liked the way it looked against the colorful flowers.
