~ This beautiful butterfly was all over the trail in Miller Canyon, in the Huachuca Mountains in Southeast Arizona. Groups of them were "puddling" along the trail--sipping salts or minerals at the puddles or damp earth.
~ The upper wings of this butterfly looks almost exactly like the California Sister; however the Arizona Sister is slightly larger and has some variations on the underwing pattern. This one was photographed in Miller Canyon in the Huachuca Mountains of southeast Arizona.
Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly ~ The butterflies were very attracted to these pink flowers, The Pipevine Swallowtail has shiny blue on the upper sides of the wings, and this pretty pattern on the underside.
