~ This immature Short-tailed Hawk was photographed as it flew right over me as I stood beside the road to Rustler Park above Cave Creek Canyon in Southeast Arizona. It was an exciting sighting, as I had only seen them soaring far away over mountain cliffs, and it is a fairly rare opportunity.
This flycatcher was photographed at the Patagonia Roadside Rest, out of Patagonia, AZ. This bird mostly lives and breeds in West Mexico, but some pairs come to very south east Arizona to breed. It is always a treat to see one.
Varied Bunting ~ This beautiful bunting was photographed in Madera Canyon, Arizona. He was one of my target birds for the Proctor Road area, and it was the first time I have managed to photograph this flitty little bird.
