This part of Alaska is full of lakes, ponds, bogs, and wet meadows. This is a large pond filled with Indian Pond Lilies. I liked the reflected mountain top in the pond.
From the Seward Highway we made a detour onto Portage Glacier Road. The road roughly follows the river, and heads up near to the base of Portage Glacier, the upper parts of which can be viewed in this image.
Antlers are frequently used as decorations on homes in this area. This pole has moos antlers on tome, caribou below.
