A few miles north of Seward, Alaska, this large lake was right beside the road. It was filled with Indian Pond Lilies, with their yellow blossoms. Everything was green and lush, with mountains all around! 7/28/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
Yesterday I posted a pic of the road to Hope, Alaska. This is one of my favorite houses in Hope. According to a sign, this began as a barn, but currently is a home, with an art gallery to the right. Quite a few of the buildings in this small town are of very early construction. It lies on the northern end of the Kenai Peninsula, on the south shore of Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet. 8/14/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
On the Seward Highway, between Anchorage and Kenai, Alaska, we took the side trip to the small town of Hope. Hope originated as a gold mining camp, Hope City, during the gold rush. It is now a cluster of small businesses and homes, mostly quite old construction, with a lot of historic charm. The population is about 200. The road up to Hope was a beautiful drive through the forest. I figure it's always good to know just how far you have to go for some hope! ;-) 8/13/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
