This beautiful columbine was photographed in a park in Alaska. One of the things I noticed about flowers in June in Alaska was the large size of many of them There is a short growing and blooming period there, and everything seems to bloom like gangbusters! This columbine flower was about 4 to 5 inches across. I loved the colors, which I'd never seen anywhere before. 7/30/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
Tern Lake is at the junction of Seward and Sterling Highways on the Kenai Peninsula. It's a great stop for birding, as it is a nesting place of Arctic Terns, Mew Gulls and Trumpeter Swans, all three of which we saw when we stopped there. We also saw muskrats swimming by in the shallow waters. Wild roses were blooming on large bushes by the parking lot. OK, this is the last Alaska shot I'll be posting. I sure would like to get out there in the world and get some new photos! Staying close to home sure doesn't offer many exciting possibilities! 8/27/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
These tea kettle were a fun part of a garden in Seldovia, Alaska. The town overall had a charming, rustic look, with neat little corners in gardens all over town. Everything was very lush and colorful. 8/26/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
