In that a light bulb is often considered symbolic of an ah-ha moment, or an idea, I figure this large strange light bulb must be a really big or important idea! It was photographed at The Last Bookstore, a very large used bookstore in Los Angeles. I visited there sometime last year, and I ran across this photo from that trip. 11/12/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
Sometimes it just feels like it would be nice to float away in a beautiful balloon! This was taken years ago at the Balloon & Wine Festival held in Temecula, California. Temecula is our closest vineyard and winery area, about 50 miles from where I live. I went for the photo ops rather than the wine, and the rest of the festivities. Who knows when they will have this festival again... 11/13/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
When I was birding out at Big Morongo Canyon Preserve last month, I happened onto this bench nestled in among the flowers. The preserve is a sort of oasis in the midst of a very desert environment. After a long very hot summer, almost everything was very brown and dry, so it was a real treat to find these flowers blooming. At first I thought some type of goldenrod, but looking in my wildflower field guide, I believe this is Rubber Rabbit Brush, which does, in fact grow in dry areas with sagebrush, and blooms from August to October. I liked the look of the bench in the flowers. 11/3/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
