When I was out shooting in downtown Redlands the other day, I re-visited Orange Street Alley, and noted some changes. This mural was one addition, which I really liked. At the top you can see reflections of the many-colored umbrellas that hang above the alley. I liked the little details of the children and dogs, seen especially at larger sizes. 4/20/19 Judith Sparhawk
This is a closer view of the copper fixture used for distilling lavender oil from the flowers. It relies on heat, steam and condensation. I thought it had an interesting look to it. 6/11/19 Judith Sparhawk
I visited the Lavender Festival last weekend, in Cherry Valley, CA. Among other displays, information and demonstrations were given regarding the many uses of lavender. I liked this window display of some of the products, including the distillation of essential oils from the lavender flowers. The copper device on the foreground table is used to distill these oils. Because of the quantities processed there at 123 Farm, a much larger distiller is used, but this made a great display. 6/11/19 Judith Sparhawk
