~ The original inn was built in 1904, and was a unique tourist hotel in Redlands. It was named after Wissahickon Creek in Phildelphia, near the previous home of the original owners. The home has been renovated and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Judith Sparhawk
~ This shows a small portion of the Zanja, (Spanish for "ditch"), the original irrigation system that was dug through Redlands to carry water for Indian villages, pioneer settlers, citrus groves, ranchers, and eventually, domestic households in Redlands. It was dug in 1819-1820 by Cahuilla Indians. Remnants of the Zanja remain today, and carry water during rainy seasons. Judith Sparhawk
Redlands Bowl Symphony ~ At the final performance of the Redlands Bowl Summer Musical Festival each year, there is a fireworks display at the conclusion of the symphony. It is a beautiful and moving evening. August, 2010.
