When I talk about walking around in downtown Redlands and exploring with my camera, I am mostly talking about an 8 block stretch of State Street. The area has lots of restaurants, shops, and offices, and includes the art gallery where I show my work and where I work part-time. At each end of those 8 blocks are signs like these above the street. I hadn't ever seen them lit up before (they are a fairly recent addition), so I just had to take a few shots. The area is fun to check out regularly for its shop window displays, the people, and whatever comes my way. 2/28/21 www.sparhawkphotography.com
This is most of a mural painted on the back wall of Pacific Premier Bank, just down the block from the gallery where I work. I drive past it every time I enter or leave the gallery, but haven't ever photographed it well. The mural was painted by local artist, Christine Curry Coates, several years ago. It shows State Street in downtown Redlands, in days gone by. It shows several businesses that are no longer on the street but are still remembered. 10/11/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
When walking around downtown Redlands the other night, I happened into the Orange Street Alley at just about sunset. It has these colorful umbrellas hanging the entire length of the alley, but for this shot I just looked up and noticed how the sunset light practically made the umbrellas glow. I liked the view with just a few of the umbrellas. 9/8/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
