This is a close up view of a Southeastern Lubber, a type of large grasshopper, that I photographed in Florida in April. I happened on a mass of these and Horse Lubbers in the middle of migration, seeing a few hundred of them, covering signs and posts at a rest stop. They were also in the nearby foliage, where I found this one. He was about 4 inches long. 6/29/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
I ran across this shot from the Florida trip last April. This was the Edward B. Knight Pier in Key West. I liked seeing this old couple sitting there looking at the view of the gorgeous water. We walked way out on the pier, looking for birds. Gulls and terns were flying around overhead. 6/28/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
While driving through Banning, CA the other day, I spotted this old mural on the back of a building. It was quite worn, with peeling paint, but I liked the look of it anyway. This was about a third of the whole mural, all of it with an "early California" look. 6/27/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
