I had an appointment for servicing my car yesterday in San Bernardino. Afterwards I went downtown and took a few photographs. This is one of the few historic buildings left in the city (for years the city fathers believed in tearing down the old and building new, with the destruction of the historic). This old theater was built in 1928 as a vaudeville and movie palace. Over the many years it has played host to many major screen and stage stars. To the current day (aside from Covid closures) it has hosted top quality musicals, plays and top touring groups. It is the home of a Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, the only one in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and one of very few in all of Southern California. 11/24/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
Usually a couple of times a year I go to visit the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Gardens in Arcadia, California. I haven't gotten there yet this year, but one of the fun things there, aside from all the beautiful gardens, is the many peacocks that wander around the grounds. This one was photographed there a few years ago. At some times of year they are doing a lot of display behavior, with the males raising their tails in a beautiful array of colors. 11/23/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
