This is one of the abstracts I created the other day with oil floated on water. I have quite a few of them, and don't worry I won't bore you with them all. It is interesting how minor changes in the colors under the glass, the amount of oil, and the motion of the mixture, cause various effects. 5/16/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
As I have been walking in my neighborhood, I have been walking by this plant for the last few weeks. First it shot up the stems with small buds (which I actually thought were the flowers), and then the buds began to open into really strange flowers. I have no idea what plant this is, although some of you Smuggers may well know. The flowers were so strange and different looking, I had to grab a couple of shots. UPDATE: Thank you to Pascual for the Latin name of this plant, Anigozanthos flavidus. She gave the French name, which Terry translated to Kangaroo Paws. I googled the Latin name, and an English name was given as Velvet Amber. What a great group of very smart and knowledgeable photogs we have! 5/15/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
This figurehead was on one of the ships at the Tall Ships Festival in Dana Point, CA. As it was taken in the morning before the fog burned off, there was very little color in the shot, so I made it official with b&w. 5/14/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
