One last post from the Van Gogh event. This one is also different from the others, showing Vincent's famous gnarled trees. It was difficult getting sharp shots, as it was dark, and everything was always moving, but that was part wonder of it all. I also took some videos, a new experience for me, but which captured some of the movement. 10/24/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
I promise I won't overdo it with photos from the Beyond Van Gogh experience, but this one is so different from the one I posted yesterday. I liked the feeling of the people merging into the painting of the village, as if they could walk right down the street and be a part of the scene. 10/23/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
I recently had the chance to experience the Beyond Van Gogh presentation. I know that quite a few of you Smuggers have already done this, but it finally came to the Palm Springs area, so I was able to go. It was an impactful experience--at times I felt as if I were living inside an Van Gogh painting, with all the colors and lights moving around me, and even across the floor. It is difficult to capture the sense of it in still photos, but of course I took some! I liked including some of the onlookers in the shots, to really convey the immersive feeling. I have had a bit of a love affair with Van Gogh, ever since I went to an extensive exhibit of his works in the De Young Museum in San Franciso, when I was 12. I have seen a half dozen movies about him, have read several books, and visited the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. This was kind of the cherry on top, to BE in his paintings! 10/22/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
