While walking around the Oak Glen School and Museum grounds the other day, I was surprised to find a little patch of violets in bloom. They were the only flowers anywhere, and it was so great to see them. I love the sweet scent of violets, which takes me back to childhood when I would pick them from the garden and put them in a tiny vase. (They never lasted through the day, but I still loved them.) 2/12/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
I was birding at Oak Glen Nature Preserve, where I hadn't been for some time. New to me was this wonderful metal gate to Children's Forest, with all its details showing the children at play, the trees, and many animals. 2/10/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
These are two of the wild horses in the band out on the hillsides beyond Lake Saguaro. They were standing near the "laughing" horse I posted yesterday. They appear to be much more dignified as they stood together watching me. Maybe not a smile shot, but a peek into the secret lives of these beautiful wild spirits. 2/6/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
