After a two year Covid break, the Renaissance Fair was held this April and May in Irwindale, CA. One of my favorite parts of the fair is the Seraphin Dancers. This year, this was my favorite dancer of the group. I thought she was very talented and beautiful, so took (too) many shots of her. 6/2/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
This egret nest was spotted at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Florida. I liked the way Momma Egret seemed to be carefully tending her chicks--perfect for Mother's Day! In this one place there were nesting Wood Storks, Cattle Egrets, Anhingas, Great Egrets, Tricolored Herons, Great Blue Herons and probably a lot more I didn't see. Everywhere I looked there was something new to see--I was in heaven! ;-) I won't be posting or commenting for a couple of days. 5/8/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
One of the fascinating things about the Everglades and other swamp areas in Florida, is all the variety in the plants. It seemed like everything was growing on everything--ferns and mosses springing up or hanging on branches, and epiphytes like these growing on trees, subsisting almost entirely on air. This type had red flowers, adding a bit of color among the many shades of green. This large cluster is growing on a type of cypress in the swamp that grows in the water environment. 4/24/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
