Several years ago, I took a Street Photography workshop in downtown Los Angeles. We covered about 8 miles that day, and stopped at many locations. In the Bunker Hill area, amid many very tall buildings, I looked down this passageway and saw a Buddhist Temple hidden away, almost out of sight. I liked the look of it juxtaposed with all the skyscrapers. As we walked by, this young man was leaving the temple--he may have been a monk, or just a visitor. 7/5/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
In playing with fireworks and the kittens, I had this story in my mind about the little guys seeing fireworks for the first time, and their possible reactions to all the color and moving lights. In reality, of course, cats would probably be hiding under the bed with all the loud noises, and certainly wouldn't be getting the light show like this. I like my version of the story better! Enjoy your 4th of July! 7/4/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
July is the month that the lotus flowers bloom in Echo Park in Los Angeles. This was from a trip there years ago to shoot them. It is the largest lotus bed in North America, and a July visit there is amazing. 7/3/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
