This was the sunset at the end of the day it snowed in Redlands. The snowstorm moved on, leaving sunshine and pretty puffy white clouds. By sunset, these really are the colors that painted the western sky! 2/25/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
I've lived in Redlands for almost 40 years and this was only the second time I've seen snow in town! I was in a staff meeting at the downtown gallery, and noticed the snow falling and blowing. We all went outside to see it and I took my first video ever with my phone. All up and down the street people were coming out of their businesses to see this unusual sight. I know for those of you from snowy climates, this is a ho-hum event, but for us Redlanders it was pretty surprising, especially after having, just last week, the hottest Super Bowl ever, in Los Angeles. 2/24/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
When I was walking in the orange grove, enjoying the scent of the orange blossoms, I was surprised (happily) when this Western Swallowtail butterfly fluttered up to the flower I had been sniffing. It allowed me to get several shots before it flew on. I guess it was appreciating the fragrant blossoms as well! 2/23/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
