On a birding trip to Lake Perris State Park, the late afternoon sun cast a golden glow over the water. 2/3/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
Dipping back into the pics from my last San Diego trip over Christmas, I spotted this Whimbrel at the top of a small hillock on the edge of Imperial Beach. I just kept walking along the beach, getting closer and closer, and finally walked on by, shooting it in different positions and angles. 2/1/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
These are a few of the thousands of Snow Geese that I saw down at Salton Sea recently. It was early, with very low light, but I wanted some shots of the geese waking up and getting ready to fly out for the day. They began calling and moving around before light, and at sunrise and after, they flew off in large flocks, until the pond was left to just a few ducks and some shorebirds. 1/29/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
