This bright green little guy was one of several I saw in Florida. It seems pretty common, but not always easy to get a shot of! Try as I might, I couldn't get one with his extended dewlaps, which was pretty pinky-red textured skin. Using a camera with a lag in shutter speed didn't help any in these attempts. I still liked the brilliant green color and that very long tail. 5/30/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
A few days ago I posted a pic of the strangler fig just starting up around the palm tree, with big plans for overtaking it. I had said I couldn't find my pics of the "after" view, but sure enough I did find one. This pic shows how the fig tree has completely grown over the palm with many layers of growth, with no evidence of the original palm tree. I found this very interesting, if a little creepy. I didn't want to stand around too close to one of these trees, in case it might mistake me for a palm tree! ;-) 5/29/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
These little Great Egret chicks were alone in their nest, and seemed to be looking around for Mom. They were cute in an ugly-sort-of way. ;-) The nest was in the Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Del Rey Beach, Florida. 5/28/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
