Back from a couple of days down at the Salton Sea. On the second day I went to my favorite place for sunrise, arriving while still dark. Thousands of Snow Geese were on the water overnight; they became restless as it started to get light. Finally the sun rose, and with a roar of wings and calls, huge flocks of geese rose into the air, flying toward the rising sun. The morning flyout is always an impressive sight! 1/25/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
When I was birding at Lake Perris State Park, I walked out to an area I'd never seen before, and spotted these two riders on the trail. I took a few shots along the way, and when they got to where I was, we chatted a bit. They had been riding close to 8 miles--believe me, I didn't go that far! You can't see it from here, but the lake is a bit to the right, past more green fields. It was nice to see this area greening up after our recent rains. I will likely miss posting for a couple of days. 1/23/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
I went birding out at Lake Perris State Park the other day. Later in the day the sky and water turned golden. 1/22/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
