One of the things I found fascinating in Florida was the diversity of plant life. This image is of a cypress swamp area in the Everglades, showing their sparse foliage and the "knees" that form as they grow in water. This was not far from some of the pine forests, or from hardwood hammocks, all with the pervasive water and the lush foliage. 5/25/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
This photo was selected as the daily winner on Imaging Resources' Photo of the Day contest for 5/24/22. After working on all the photos I took on the Florida trip, I think this one is my favorite. I know that my visit to the Wakodahatchee Wetlands was one of my favorite experiences of the trip, and this image came from that visit. 5/24/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
While in Florida I spotted several Osprey nests--it was that time of year, obviously. This one was along the water at a park in Flamingo, Florida. This was one of those times I really wished I had my long lens to zoom in on the bird. As it was, I had to get as close to the tree as I could, and shoot up from below. I loved seeing all the nesting activity, suggesting hopefulness for the next generation of birds. 5/23/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
