When I was birding out at Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, the fields were full of these yellow flowers. It blooms in the fall in the desert, and is Alkalai Goldenbush. The bees apparently love it--there were dozens of honey bees everywhere I looked. This one paused long enough for a quick photo. 10/10/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
About three weeks ago I posted a spiderweb pic--this one was taken on the same hike along the San Pedro River out of Sierra Vista, Arizona. I am posting this one as well, as it is completely different, surely built by a different type of spider. It was also covered in dew, shining in the early morning sun. The spider was not in sight, but may have been hiding out, watching me as I admired his handiwork! ;-) 10/1/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
I ran across this spider while on a hike along the San Pedro River out of Sierra Vista, Arizona. This was the hike where I saw some great spiderwebs along the path. This spider, however, didn't have a fancy web, but was big and had nice markings, so I took a couple of shots of him. 9/27/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
