I went birding today at Big Morongo Canyon Preserve in Morongo Valley, CA. I managed to add 3 new birds to my year list. One of them was this Barn Owl, found roosting high up in a pine tree. (I also saw another rooting in a palm tree.) I was happy to finally get this owl on my list--isn't he pretty? 10/3/22 www.sparhawkphotographycom
I will end my Arizona trip series with this view of the rugged rock cliffs that rise above the canyon floor in Cave Creek Canyon, out of Portal, Arizona. This shows a couple of the smaller caves from which the canyon got its name. This area is one of my favorite places to visit in southeast Arizona. I just counted, and see that I have posted 31 images from that trip! 10/2/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
About three weeks ago I posted a spiderweb pic--this one was taken on the same hike along the San Pedro River out of Sierra Vista, Arizona. I am posting this one as well, as it is completely different, surely built by a different type of spider. It was also covered in dew, shining in the early morning sun. The spider was not in sight, but may have been hiding out, watching me as I admired his handiwork! ;-) 10/1/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
