Back from a few days in San Diego, visiting family and birding. Among other places I want was San Diego Safari Park, where I found this weaver and its nest. This bird is native to Tanzania and Kenya in Africa, so is a captive bird. I usually just photograph birds in the wild, but this one was so accommodating around its nest, I couldn't resist. The opening of the next in the bottom, and it did go in and out this way while I watched. 3/24/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
While birding in San Timoteo Canyon recently there were a few swallows and many White-throated Swifts, all flying about in the sky. This image is of a Rough-winged Swallow, probably the most nondescript swallow we have, but worth photographing, as I seldom see one sitting still, nicely perched for several photos before flitting off again in search of flying insects. I would have loved seeing one with more pretty colors and markings, but sometimes you just take what you get! I will be away from my computer for a few days, so will have to catch up with you all later. 3/19/22 www.sparhawkphotography.com
This is the third piece of public art along the street in Loma Linda, CA. It just so happened that at this location, along the sidewalk, were several flowering orange trees, with lots of buzzing bees all around. It seemed very fitting for this artwork to be right there. 3/18/22 www.sparhawkphotographycom
