OK, I promise I won't bore you all with a lot of family photos, but when I ran across my Dad's picture, I also found this one. This shows my twin sister and I "reading" on the couch in Alaska. I'm the one on the left, and my sister Maggie is on the right. We were three years old at the time of this photo. When I photographed the old print, I noticed that it shows some of the texture of the paper it was originally printed on. I'm not sure if I like that or not, but that's what I got. My mother had a makeshift "darkroom" for enlarging and printing--actually the kitchen in our small house in Anchorage, used only after dark, of course! 6/30/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
A definite departure for me--I was sorting through things, and ran across this old photograph of my Dad, taken in October, 1944 in Alaska. He was headed out to hunt--not sure for what. One time he went moose hunting and came back with a dozen rabbits. Once he and his friend bagged a moose, split it, and half a moose fed his family of five for 6 months! The shot was originally a black & white, hand tinted by my mother with transparent oils. When I found it, I photographed it so I had a digital file. My Dad would have been 36 years old at the time. 6/29/20 My website" www.sparhawkphotogtaphy.com
This was one of the entries at the Chalk Festival in Pasadena, CA a few years ago. The artist is putting the final touches on her artwork, which was really quite beautiful and well executed. I watched her for quite awhile; she was my favorite as a photo subject. 6/22/21 www.sparhawkphotography.com
