Hanging On ~ This was one of several dragonflies that I didn't manage to identify. It was shot at a wetlands area near Salton Sea. I liked the way it was hanging on to the tiny stem. It was waving in the breeze a bit, and thus the soft focus. I kept it as my best shot of this dragonfly, hoping for an ID.
Black-fronted Forktail Damselfly ~ This damselfly was so tiny, when I photographed it on a stalk of grass in a pond, I had no idea of the colors and markings. Once I had the image home and on the computer, I was happy to find one I don't believe I had ever seen before.
Eastern Amberwing ~ Thanks Ethan for the ID. This appears to be a female of the species. This fluttery dragonfly had a rapid wingbeat, with widely separated wings. It would light briefly on grasses, allowing only very brief views and pictures.
