Julia Heliconian Butterfly ~ This female Julia was the most common butterfly I saw in the Everglades and on Key Largo. I had only seen it in special butterfly exhibits before, and it was wonderful seeing them flying wild and free in Florida.
Blue Morpho ~ This beautiful butterfly is a gorgous turquoise blue on the upper wings; it virtually never sits with its wings open to show the blue. The underside of the wings has this intricate pattern. It was photographed at San Diego Safari Park.
Owl Butterfly ~ Visited the San Diego Safari Park's annual butterfly exhibit on Saturday. This was one of the images I captured there.
