Banana Slug on the Trail ~ Not everyone appreciates the Banana Slugs, but I like the color, the texture--OK, maybe they are kinda ooey-gooey, but they do add color and life to the redwood forests. This one was on the trail at Prairie Creek State Park, near Fern Canyon and Gold Bluffs Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Western Meadowhawk ~ These dragonflies were new to me, and I loved their colors, not realizing they were male and female of the same species, until they began mating before my very eyes. They were very beautiful.
Common Whitetail ~ This dragonfly was so white in the sunlight, it was very distinctive. It kept lighting on branches just a little too far away.
