This grasshopper showed up on my patio one day, just a tiny little thing, but over time grew to about 3 times its size, mostly staying on my Boston Fern. When I would water the plants, wherever it was, it would hop off and get out of the way of the water. In this shot it had hopped up on a plant at the stucco side of the house. I'm not up for the extreme macros that Bruno does, but I liked the way this guy looked. 3/5/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
This baby snail crawled out of some calla lilies I brought into the house to photograph. His shell was only about 1/4 inch long! Despite his small size, he was quite agile in moving about the flowers. As with most baby creatures, I found him to be quite cute, though I'm sure most gardeners among us would disagree with me! 3/8/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
This busy little honey bee was photographed as it buzzed around the flowering Brittlebush at Whitewater Nature Preserve in Southern California. 1/22/20 Judith Sparhawk
