This butterfly was in the seasonal exhibit at San Diego Safari Park. Although most of the were more colorful, there was something about the delicacy of this one that I really liked. 4/11/19 Judith Sparhawk
This very pretty butterfly is an Erato Heliconian, and was photographed at San Diego Safari Park the other day. My artist's eye would have preferred it light on flowers more color coordinated with its wing spots, but I guess there's no acountin' for taste! ;-) 4/13/19 Judith Sparhawk
This colorful beetle was seen and photographed at the Tijuana Estuary in Ocean Beach, CA. This is a State Park, and is the largest wetlands area in southern California, where many areas have been lost to development. It is an important area for nesting and migration of birds.
