This coyote was photographed at the Living Desert, Palm Desert, CA. There were three of them in a quite large enclosure, and they were active and running around. It was hard to get a decent shot of one, as they were very quick and kept getting out of view. I would have preferred to see this one in the wild--I still liked her look as she went by.
This female Cheetah was photographed at the Living Desert, Palm Desert, CA. She and her two sisters were active in their large natural enclosure. They were beautiful animals. I liked her golden eyes.
This very cute little fox is an Island Fox, a species endemic to the Channel Islands off the coast of Ventura, CA. The foxes live on 6 of the 8 islands, and are a separate subspecies on each island. When I was birding on Santa Cruz Island I had hoped to see one of these--nope! I was happy to finally see one at the Living Desert, Palm Desert, CA. I am quite sure this is a fox that could not survive in the wild; it would not be taken from the islands otherwise.
