This female Cheetah was photographed at the Living Desert, Palm Desert, CA. She and her two sisters were active in their large natural enclosure. They were beautiful animals. I liked her golden eyes. 2/25/19 Judith Sparhawk
This very cute little fox is an Island Fox, a species endemic to the Channel Islands off the coast of Ventura, CA. The foxes live on 6 of the 8 islands, and are a separate subspecies on each island. When I was birding on Santa Cruz Island I had hoped to see one of these--nope! I was happy to finally see one at the Living Desert, Palm Desert, CA. I am quite sure this is a fox that could not survive in the wild; it would not be taken from the islands otherwise. 2/22/19 Judith Sparhawk
Today I went to the Living Desert in Palm Desert, CA. This bobcat was one of two in an enclosure. He was always on the move, and tended to turn his head away, but I got a few shots of him looking my way. 2/21/19 Judith Sparhawk
