Mama Marmot ~ This nursing mother marmot was standing at attention, protecting her burrow, in which there were at least two baby marmots. Dad was nearby, keeping an eye on things and maybe hunting breakfast.
Kissin' Kuzzins ~ These Belding Ground Squirrels were two of a group of babies playing around the rocks and roots. I thought this was a sweet moment between them.
Baby Belding Ground Squirrel ~ This little squirrel had a burrow at the bottom of this tree, and would come out in the early morning sun, and run back in if danger appeared. While I was watching it, a Northern Goshawk flew right by the tree. Zip, down he went!
