Nesting Great Blue Herons ~ These herons are nesting in this tall palm tree at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Orange County, California.
Great Blue Heron ~ Went birding at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, and looked at the old tree snags where the herons had nested last year. Nope, none. Then I found several Great Blue "couples" nesting in the large palm trees nearby.
Buffleheads ~ This Bufflehead "couple" was photographed at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Orange County, California. I liked capturing the irridescence on his head, showing green and purple rather than just black.
