Coming In For A Landing ~ Usually when I see Burrowing Owls, they are on the ground, near their burrows. If they fly, it is most often flying away from me. I was happy to capture this one in flight, coming in for a landing.
~ This hawk was photographed at Hawkwatch. It is a dark morph Ferruginous; if it were light morph the breast would be almost completely white, and the underwings would be much lighter. I love his feather details.
Prairie Falcon Portrait ~ Today I visited the Hawkwatch program at the Ramona Grasslands in San Diego County. I had the opportunity to photograph some hawks close-up. I enjoyed making portrait shots. They were all so beautiful.
