Bluebird of Happiness ~ I was shooting woodpeckers at a local park, when this Western Bluebird lit on the tree trunk right in front of me. It was one of those happy surprises . I got several shots of him posing before he flew away.
Bluebird at the Nest ~ This male Western Bluebird was taking turns with his mate, feeding the young birds in the nest cavity. This photo shows him peeking out the nest hole before flying back out to hunt for more bugs and worms. Yum.
Song Sparrow ~ True to his name, this sparrow was singing happily in the shrubbery at Descanso Gardens, and then popped out to hop around, seed-hunting, in the walkway. He paused a couple of times for his picture to be taken
