**Published in the August/September 2013 National Wildlife Magazine** Cliff Swallow at the Nest ~ This swallow had returned to the nest, and paused outside after feeding the birds inside. I loved seeing the colors and patterns on this bird, which we don't normally see when they swoop around in flight.
~ This bright male bluebird conveniently perched on the tip of a tree branch, allowing me to take several shots before he flew off to his nest hole.
Brown Creeper ~ On a trip to the mountains yesterday, I saw two of these cute little birds. They were difficult to shoot, as they are constantly on the move, "creeping" up the pine tree trunks in search of insects for food, then flying to the next tree and starting over. Very fun to watch.
