This small warbler was photographed at San Jacinto Wildlife Area. They tend to be very reclusive birds, hard to spot, and even harder to get a clear photograph. This one popped up in the reeds for a second or two, so got this shot.
Junco Foraging ~This view of the junco shows where it was scratching up the ground near the nest, picking up and holding seeds in its beak. It has a fairly full beak at the moment, and is about to go to the nest for feeding the young.
Vermillion Flycatcher ~ This male Vermillion Flycatcher was photographed at Covington Park, next to Big Morongo Canyon Preserve in Southern California. I watched while he caught insects and fed them to his babies in the nest.
