This junco is found in mountain canyons in southeast Arizona. Frequently hopping around on the ground, this one sat up and posed for me.
A beautiful and elusive bird found only in a few Arizona mountain canyons, this Elegant Trogan is much sought after, and often missed. This time it was worth climbing up the steep, rough Carrie Nation Trail in Madera Canyon, to spot this great bird.
