I went birding at the Whitewater Nature Preserve the other day, and although I was disappointed by how quiet the bird life was, I enjoyed some of the scenery. This very large Cottonwood tree was still covered in golden leaves, and I liked the sunlight and the angle of the large trunk. When hiking through San Timoteo Canyon out of Redlands, CA, you pass by or through two groves of eucalyptus trees. This was a trail in dappled light, as it leads into the grove--a painterly version. 1/29/20 Judith Sparhawk
