When I went to Yucaipa Regional Park the other day, I saw that the hillsides were covered with these daisies. They aren't wildflowers, but were beautiful, with several different color combinations. It was hard not to take too many pics of them! 4/5/21 www.sparhawkphotography.com
When hiking in Caroline Park yesterday, I was about to leave and noticed a massive bush--it must have been 7 feet high and possibly 20 feet wide, and was covered with these pretty flowers. I found it in my field guide as Desert Willow. The leaves are long and narrow, and it forms long thin seed pods (see some by the buds.) It is a desert species that got its name from the look of the leaves, and is not really related to true willow species. 6/11/21 www.sparhawkphotography.com
I went for a hike today at Caroline Park in Redlands, CA. I realized I hadn't been up there all year, and didn't want to miss the blooming Matilija Poppies. I was a little late, as they were no longer in their prime, but this is the view from the parking area at the top of the hill. It was a lovely day, for a hike, with quite a few birds and some lovely wildflowers. 6/10/21 www.sparhawkphotography.com
